Hue's Story: From Fearful to Fearless

Meet Hue, an adult male budgie from Australia. He bit hard any time a hand came into his cage—even for simple things like changing food or water.
During his Signature Series, we discovered that Hue wasn’t “mean.” He was scared. No one had ever taught him how to feel safe around hands, so biting was the only thing he knew to do.
We slowly showed Hue how to feel safe with people and how to choose to interact instead of defend himself. Now he can step up, and he even flies to his humans around the house. He’s the same bird—but with a completely different life because everything was built with his size and instinct in mind.
Azuki's Story: A New Lease On Life

Azuki was only three years old when she came to The Budgie Academy at the end of 2023. She laid more than 50 eggs in the last two years and it was life-threatening.
Her human had already tried everything the internet and their vet suggested, except for hormone shots and implants. Those were going to be the next step to try to save her life.
In our session, we looked closely at Azuki’s setup and daily life. We found that her environment was full of “it’s breeding season” signals—things that tell a budgie’s body to keep making eggs. During her Behavior Breakthrough, we taught her how to identify, adjust, and monitor these signals going forward.
Her human told me her biggest wish was simple: “I want an egg‑free 2024.”
Azuki not only had an egg‑free 2024—she also had an egg‑free 2025. And we did it without hormone injections or implants, just by changing her environment and routines.

If you decide you’d like the support offered by the other series, the cost of your Clarity Call will be credited to the cost of the series you want to transition to.
What if I have more than one budgie?
No problem at all! The majority of the knowledge will translate to your entire flock, so if you have multiple individuals in a flock who all are good fits for a Behavior Breakthrough or a Signature Series, we will work with your entire flock at once.
What if my bird is not a budgie?
That’s totally okay. I chose to build The Budgie Academy because they are my personal favorite, but I am trained to consult on all parrot species and working with non-budgie or mixed flocks is very common. If your non-budgie parrot fits the description for that series well, then that is the right series for you. If you’re not sure which one is right for you, start with a Clarity Call and we can decide together. If you decide that you’d like the support offered by the other series after your Clarity Call, the cost of your Clarity Call will be credited to the cost of the series you want to transition to.
